Beginners Sewing Itinerary:
Day 1: We will be sewing pajama pants in this series. Introduction to sewing machines, threading practice, and basic machine use. Overview of pattern packaging, pattern instructions, fabric types, fabric vocabulary, needles, and thread.
Day 2: Tracing the pattern onto fabric and understanding pattern symbols. Cutting fabric, caring for fabric scissors, and working with muslin.
Day 3: Begin assembling pants using the sewing machine.
Day 4: Finish sewing the pants and if time allows, add the elastic.
Please note: Light homework will be assigned between classes to reinforce skills and keep your project on track.

Beginners Learn to Sew Class Series
Sept Saturday Series—Registration OPEN begins Saturday, Sept 12, 2026 (meets four consecutive Saturdays: 12th, 19th, 26th, and Oct 3rd) from 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Sept Tuesday Series—Registration OPEN begins Tuesday, Sept 15th, 2026 (meets four consecutive Tuesdays: 15th, 22nd, 29th, and Oct 6th) from 11:00am – 1:00pm
$129 for 8 hours of instruction.* You must be pre-registered to attend class.
Supplies are needed for the class. Sewing Students are entitled to a 10% discount on new machines and notions during enrollment. See the list here:
